For Sale. The best Gilera Nordwest in the world (literally) L reg, 1994, 2082km on the clock, totally original apart from a new alternator, battery, and cam belt (and fluids) owned by me for six years. Previous owner kept it in his living room as an ornament. Only ridden occasionally on sunny Sundays. (qu'elle surprise) 1900 quid to friends, going on public sale shortly for 2300. It should be in a museum really, I can't bring myself to thrash it in all weathers like it deserves, we've got a KTM 640SM for that Reason for sale? I rarely ride it, and an elderly Ducati 906 Paso needs electrics and stuff sorting.

    Nice
this is a bike that turns heads in the high street as well as outside bike shops and makes a brilliant fun town/back roads stormer. Even I, the world's worst wheelier, was tempted into a few half respectable one wheeled excursions. And that, for me, sums up the Nordwest. It's not the world's most practical bike; it is not the world's fastest bike and it's not the biggest or smallest. But it is a fine mixture of virtues that combine to produce a vehicle dedicated to the pursuit of pleasure. □

Were the motors on these in-house Gilera or are they a Rotax or something?

McS is down on the south coast IIRC.

Tricky could walk down, collect it and ride home.

He could indeed, ( or more likely drive his van down and pop it in the back )

Puts a different complexion on things, I'd assumed from his sidebar he was in the Dear Green Place, PM sent....

McS- I'm guessing from the silence that that its either sold, you've had a change of heart, are otherwise engaged at the moment or left the internet, but if you can see this and its still for sale please give me a shout

    Bike now Sold!

To me, thanks Mcs, am very happy

It has the odd bit of age tarnishing , chain lube fling etc here and there, and but as he says it's in lovely nick, has obviously lived indoors all its life and most rarely for one of these, and importantly to me, it's all original, even down to the 23 year old Michelin Hi-Sides Hi-Sports

I gave it a fun 10 mile or so rag around the lanes near me, but anything more will have to wait until I get my arse in gear and give it a precautionary cambelt , oil and filter etc.
Along with that, it will also get a Weeksy-standard clean and polish, possibly a tasteful stainless or titanium replacement exhaust if I can find anyone decent still making one for it, and who knows, it may even get a few laps around Pembrey at the annual summer Extravaganza

Fettling / cleaning thread to follow when I have a bit more time.

Here it is, nestling in Tricky Mansions with some of its new friends....
