Seals will be fuc&5d no compression its a 2T new seals required.
Trying to get a 1980 Suzuki SB200 running again after standing for 20 years.
I've cleaned out the carbs and changed the float needle & seat. Changed the air filter, spark plugs .
She started up but is running really rough. Thought all it needed was a good run. However, when I turn the choke off the left cylinder dies and the right keeps running but bogs down a bit. The carbs on the bike are Mikuni VM18SS's.
Not sure where to go from here.
Compression seems okay though.
SB200s are CDI, so no points etc to worry about.
Have you had the carbs completely apart and ultra-sonically cleaned? ( or an overnight in bi-carb or ketchup etc)
if you haven't, Id definitely do that before anything else else, as its just about certain one or both will have growths within, and even if they aren't the total cause of the poor running, I'd bet my house that they will be contributory as a minimum.
Aren't SB200s single carb and the X5 had twin carbs.
No I'm just plain wrong, I honestly thought the SB was single carb, if they'rethe same carbs as my GT185 had good luck, they used to need constant float height adjustment otherwise it holed the right hand piston.
