Also, with the “register your guns or if you get caught with an unregistered gun - you go to jail and lose your rights altogether” - I’d bet a huge percentage of legal owners would register. The illegal ones of course wouldn’t, but you’re no worse off for that anyway.

There will always be guns out there, there is in the UK despite the bans.

Licensing won’t have an affect tomorrow, but nothing will. It’s about playing the long game and reducing the ease to which anyone can buy a small countries army sized arsenal, with no checks or balances.

This generation will kick back badly, the next slightly less.... and so on.

What’s the other option? Do nothing?

And you left out the limit of how much ammo you can buy & having to pass a background check/register to buy it.

So your *sensible control* is less aggravation that what I already have to put up with...
Limiting ammo purchases is pointless unless you’re forced to hand over your empty cases...

And controls need to be countrywide not by county/state.

So is a waiting period if you already own a firearm.....

& as you're not asked to turn in used brass, the ammo limit would contravene the 4th & 5th Amendments

Not really - time for checks to be redone, time for you to cool down rather than buying a gun and going on a rampage cos your missus has fucked the bell hop.

It’s not perfect - but it’s better than what there is now across vast swathes of America.

What’s your answer then? Just accept the slaughter, shrug and say nothing can be done?
