Anyone who grew up post about 2010 will find touch screens second nature, weird as it sounds lots of people can use them without looking. The Tesla also has critical functions like wipers, lights and indicators on the steering wheel in conventional stalks.

And that's also forgetting increasingly sophisticated voice and gesture control. On the new BMW 7 series for example you can control the stereo channel and volume by waving your left hand (in a RHD car) about for example.
I could've sworn Tesla had done away with the wiper stalk, hey ho, but you still need the screen to control its speed.
But I do disagree with folks being able to use a touch screen without looking, there are just too many functions and menus to navigate.

AFAIK tesla fit HUDs to their cars...

Could just be an option though, not sure. I've driven a Beemer with one though and it's brill. It looks like the display is hovering just above your headlights. Shows your speed and a few other key bits. You can also control the car using a scroll/click wheel on the steering wheel and see what radio stations etx there are without looking down.

Won't be too long before you get augmented reality as a common feature on cars.

A self-driving shuttle service is to be deployed in New York City by the middle of the year.

Boston start-up Optimus Ride will run vehicles on private roads at the Brooklyn Navy Yard site located on New York's East River.

The shuttle will help workers get around the large site.
