Pretty much the same story for all these places.
Go there for the ride on the roads in the area and the countryside, not the crack when you get there and you won't be disappointed.

If any of you are in those areas and don't tell me you're coming, and then I find out you've been and haven't had a beer/coffee with me (if I can make it), I will be mightily upset!

Well, if there was ever an invite coming my way then that might just be possible.

Just scanned through this post (relative newbie).

ABF mentioned it in his list earlier, but not in detail....

West End cafe, Llandovery, Carmarthenshire, West Wales (look up Swansea on a map and then look 30-odd miles North and slightly East). There's a lot of bikes there on a weekend - esp. a sunny Sunday (like most other bike meets I guess). You'll get everything there from Power Rangers on missiles to the odd Classic with everything in between.

Probably it's so popular as there isn't a duff road to get to it from ANY direction, and (esp. if you are happy to get out into the boonies and off the 'A' roads) some absolute cracking rides). The other popular gathering places (e.g. Abergavenny, Aberystwyth, Mumbles, Porthcawl, Cowbridge) are not too far away and (if you know where you're going or plan it, and aren't bothered about going a little out of your way) can all get to Llandovery on a good ride.

Note of caution - the roads do catch riders out quite often. There's nothing really bad, but you can get carried away (literally) if you don't read the road well and give it some stick. The police are also well aware of the area's popularity too - so the main approaches (esp. from East & West) are often targeted.

Or just click the link I posted in the original list and it not only pops up the position on google maps but links to their website too.
