The TV series reflects the world of the books well, even to the point of the geography changing to suit the plot, in the first book it takes 6 months to get from the North to the capital, this seems to reduce as the books go on.

And how the feck would s 300 foot high wall of ice work?

The book explains that. The Watch built up the eroded top every year using stones, then as the snows came they would build up the ice around them. :smug:

A w\all worked for Hadrian and that isn't 30 feet never mind 300! The wildlings must have been a bit stupid not to attack while it was being built in the first place. Easy pickings then! No?

Hadrian had the advantage that his "wildlings" had to actually sober up to mount an attack

The wall wasn't built to keep the Wildlings out. It was built by humans and the children of the forest to keep the walkers from the south. The humans left north of the wall became the wildlings we have now.

    Apparently.

About time winter got here, the last series was a tad slow, but its a balancing act trying to keep those who have read the books semi happy V's those who haven't.
Bring on the epic battle scenes.

They must be Polish. If they were proper British Norverners, the White Walkers would have ambled in during the third tea-break of the morning whilst the wall was still being discussed.....
