Imo utter bullshit, I've shared one or two videos on this site regarding crashes. And a large majority of people stated I'd been at fault. Which I openly admitted it would probably be the insurance companies decision to go 50/50. However I've got 10years no claims and used multiple (two or more) camera's at one time on ride-outs. It's your opinion but black-box technology & even GPS
kit are now routinely confiscated at the scenes of accidents.

If a rider is going to go above the speed limit the sensible among us usually cover the speedo or don't capture the reading on screen. Dash-cams have been incorporated into a wide gamut of countries to help mitigate wrong-doing. Namely Russian Federation & in the uk truck driving scene to lower insurance liability. But as I've mentioned maybe those who have GPS kit should learn the quick route to deleting 'top speed' readings. As they are now taken as evidence.

Covering the Speedo etc is a waste of time. Working out your speed is easy: 25 or 30 frames per second, with white lines a set length giving distance, same maths as miles per hour.

If you're going to break the speed limit, racing your mate, do it in another country.... in 2004, when the camera quality was so poor you couldn't read the numbers on the speedo.

I'm aware of the police's ability to calculate speed from video Horse. But if I'm speeding & video'ing it I'm not going to make it easy for them.

Maybe if the law was actually applied in all cases; topgear, royaljordian, 44teeth & the like would be facing prosecution. But as usual in a dystopian society of two tier statist being; 'shows' for entertainment whether online or for shits-n-giggles. Come to think of it how about those times when VIP's are escorted by the police. Why are they allowed to break the rules of society having armoured & armed vehicles speeding along...and the rest of us have to take a knock on the chin!

Can we try to have at least one thread that doesn't descent into personal digs. Thanks.

So no digs in a thread started to have a dig at another rider .....

I'm not disagreeing with the sentiment though.

Nice rant However, back in the world of you and me . . . Prosecution wouldn't be based on the speedo anyway. Just as a f'rinstance, if you crash in a manner which is likely to be investigated, would you move the wreckage so the Man doesn't think you were travelling so fast?
