    Default Paint or powdercoat?

Finally got my exhaust hangers and very nice they are too.

I opted for the uncoated version as it meant I would get them several weeks earlier, this now means getting them done here.

Looking at them and where they mount on the bike I was wondering whether a simple paint covering might not be just as good, I know powder is a bit tougher though the paint would be easier to touch up.

    What do you reckon then?

I would just paint them but I am a notorious skinflint.

That^. And nobody does powdercoating locally. Carriage charges get ruinous after a while.

I got back today clutching a few rattle cans to use on these brackets, as I was hanging them to undercoat I thought it would be such a shame to lose the lovely brushed steel natural finish , and in that little light bulb moment I put the paint away for another day and lacquered them as they are. It probably won’t last that long as a finish but I figured if I put plenty of coats over them I might be lucky.
I’m currently feeling pleased with myself, at least until the first rust spots appear.
