    It's this:
    http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Pro...uID=22&LanID=0

    • Support by VIAź VT8237
      • 4 x Ultra DMA133/100/66 devices
      • 2 x Serial ATA devices
      • RAID0 & RAID1 configuration

So can I have the lot populated please? Because if so that would make quite a neat solution for my collection of archaic IDE drives with a couple of BFO satas as well. I'm seeing NAS/ server here. It's running quite a decent cpu for the day, Venice 3200**, although it won't see (apparently) any more then 2GB of ram in the pair of DDR slots. It has 2GB of matched PC3200 in it.

This is that stack of old disks you've had for years? Why bother? They're an electro-mechanical device and as such have a useful working life, which I'm pretty sure the IDE devices are well past. I sure wouldn't a) waste money on new hardware to utilise them or b) store anything of value on the array. It also only does RAID 1, which is mirrored...no matter how many drives you add you're just adding redundancy - NOT capacity.

That'll do-cheers. Link says 'access denied' BTW, but I've grasped the idea

The link is to the datasheet for that motherboard. It's from the site you posted.
