    I did hear somewhere that there is somewhere where previous versions of Microsoft office are available to buy? Does anyone know where that may be? Search brings ambiguous results.

    I've tried free office versions and they're terrible and one just keeps crashing.

    If you can find a boxed product, buy that.

    Else if you buy the latest version you should get downgrade rights to license any previous version (however finding a copy of the ISO and getting M$ to give you a downgraded key could be challenging.

    You could also try one of the places that buys back and resells licences - they'll be volume licenses though and I'll doubt you'll get a single one.
