Looks like heís got his sights set on winning the most WSB titles of all time. Slightly disappointed that the rumours of him going to MotoGP didnít happen.

More than slightly, he’s proved all he needs to in WSB, a stint in MotoGP would have been a natural progression.

Though in his defence, perhaps there were just no offers available to him.

MotoGP is littered with the carcasses of the careers of WSB champions who thought they could cut it with the big boys. He'd have been foolish to jump ship from what must be a very nice contract for anything less than a full works bike.

I think you'll find they're alive an well and working for BT

Problem Rea's got is that he's a big fish in a pond that's getting smaller. god knows what it will look like in 2 seasons time

Thats what I was meaning when I said no offers were available, I wouldn't expect him to just settle for a satellite team but I fear he missed his narrow window of opportunity a few years ago.

Well, at least I don't have to bother watching the WSB borefest for the next two years. We already know who's going to be the champ!!

Tough position for Rae (only a little though). I reckon he'd have done pretty well in Motogp but he stuck with the shit Fireblade for too long which meant he never got a shot when he was the right age. Now unless he was offered a decent factory ride in GP it probably doesn't make much sense.
Prop up you pension pot by a handsome amount whilst winning every week and setting records
    Or
Get on a private GP bike and fight for 10th for less money.

At least he'd get the chance to go up against the best riders on the planet.
Shame Kawasaki didn't have a MotoGP project he could have headed up?

Yup, did OK. 2 races, 8th, 7th. Which is obviously far from terrible.
