    Default Spotify

    Am i blind. I cant stop it starting when windows starts. Cant i turn it off and how?

    if you on win 10 , right click task bar and click task manager ,
    click start up (if you dont see it click more details) and disable it.

    alternatively open start menu type run , in the run box enter msconfig
    then disable in there.

    Cheers but all that does is turn it off for that session. Reboot its running again.

    It shouldnt do, I have disabled lots of programs from starting that way and they stayed disabled.

    msconfig then disable in the startup programs should do it.

    OK i missed in msconfig a 2nd program called spotify web help what seemed to have been kicking the main program into life. Disabled that also and its stopped starting on startup. Odd but there you go.

    I use the web interface because the installed version is a pain.

    It also uses your PC to store and share music AFAIK, along the lines of a torrent. When I had a 'no space' warning I found it had nicked a huge chunk of the system partition for this purpose.
