I’ve been waiting since December for the service book and since February for a warranty part.
    Still no sign of either.

Its an MV, that’s just how they roll.

Anyway that was the scenario last Friday. They ordered a replacement sump plug which was due to arrive on Monday or Tuesday this week. It hadn’t arrived so they chased it up this morning to be told that the sump plug supplier hadn’t received the order and had sold the one they had....
An alternative has been sourced now and it should be with them on Friday.
....just in time for my going away camping for a long weekend. ☹️
Anyway that’s the story so far.

Oh and I hate the number plate so am looking at MVA monikered private plates.

Hmm, get them to show you the new one installed - it wouldn't be the first time a sump thread has part been stripped or even a fracture in the sump from over tightening.... good luck!

I guess if fractured it'll leak. I may drop the oil straight away that way I can look at the plug and I'll know it's got decent oil in it. I can't see the service dept using 40 stuff.

    Obvs I'll eyeball first.

I wouldn’t get uptight about it, a sump plug and even a stripped thread can easily be sorted.
The dealer sounds a bit wank though.

No it won't be 40 oil, but then it doesn't matter as it will be correct spec. Use it for a couple thousand miles then drop it if bothers you - no point wasting new oil.

    Typical dealer to a point....

They came back to me really quickly from the original web query. Updates haven't been good enough for my liking.
Wank would have been botching the fix.

They are probably using JB weld to sort the cracked sump.

    - For the bike pick-up I mean, not the groggy offspring, and that's assuming that it doesn't have an araldited sump of course...

Such a shame you're not coming to Pembrey, would be good to meet you and I would love a go on it.

    - can't you move the family holiday, or whatever it is, in South Wales?
