FWIW my main phone is now a Samsung S3. It works fine with a new battery off ebay for sod all. Well it's works fine, but android is old, some apps won't work on it & it's a bit of a slug. I have an S2 as well, same thing.

What they have both done is strip a bit of a rosey tint from my eyes. I had believed that my fav form factor of all time was that S2. You try texting on the larger S3-it's a mm or two too small for precision. S2 god knows how I managed with it.

However the deal killer is the camera. I use one a lot & these simply are not good enough.

    Iphone 4S looks comparable to S2: https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php...&idPhone2=3621

I wouldn't even bother even if it was working perfectly well.

I'll sort it out when you want the Shockwiz if you want

    Or indeed happy to post.

I'll even throw you in the SIM it came with when i bought it, Voda specific and unused...

I ended up with the G6 Play version, seems absolutely fine, recent OS and all that, fingerprint activation and all that . My youngest has got the higher spec one and real world use I can't really tell the difference - I think the screens are slightly different but there's no showstopping compromises.

And it was about 120 notes in the Black Mamba sale so pretty decent value.

The play has a 4000mah battery compared the the 3000mah of the G6, that plus the lower spec processor and screen on the play means
    increased time between charges.

I have just been given an iPhone 6s ... so that solves the phone issue.
is Giff Gaff still the best option for Sim only ?

    I use Three PAYG. 3p/min, 2p/text, 1p/Mb, I'm happy.

My experience may not be typical, I'm what you might call a light user, it's cost me £5.79 since October 2017.

I am likely to also be a light user ... what is the difference between PAYG and a monthly goody bag type approach?

Three sim only for me too, but I have a monthly contract one with data, minutes, texts etc all included, also they do the feel at home thing where the all the data/ minutes/ texts etc work around the world. They have some bloody good deals occasionally.

A goodybag is a contract like package, you pay a set amount to get minutes etc. for a month. PAYG is just that but if you use the phone it can work out a lot more expensive.
The benefit of goodybags is that the lack of a credit agreement means you can avoid unexpected bills as long as you don't enable automatic top up.

Iíd tend to go with Three - have 3 accounts with them.
They do a great sim only deal with unlimited everything for £20 a month - thatís the deal Iíve got my lads phone on.

I'd be careful with that assumption.
I used belt and braces with my Three SIM in China (turned off mobile data roaming AND limited it to 1MB/month just in case) at £6/MB!

Works in 71 countries around the world. That leaves 125 countries where it doesn't work.

For a light user like myself, I find a sim from these people pretty good at 1p per minute, 1p per text and 1p per megabyte of data. They use the EE network as well which has good coverage.

If you want it to then yes, or at least it will be assigned when you make it live.
