    On my MTB forks, the lower are 'hhmmmmm' with the thread on one of the mounts being not quite perfect.

    Helicoil isn't filling me with as much confidence as a timesert, mostly due to the fact i'd be taking it off/on at times rather than 'fit and forget'.

    So, has anyone got a M6 timesert kit

    They use helicoil inserts on planes, so they are quite safe.

    There must be a local engineering place that can do it for you cheaper than buying the whole Timesert kit.
    I prefer Timeserts to Helicoils, I've never had a Timesert come out, I've had Helicoils comeout too often.
