Ok, hypothetically if someone had topped up their GSXR 600 k3 fuel tank with diesel, and then ridden off so this new unholy mix went right through their engine - how would they drain everything out of everywhere it shouldn't be?

Use petrol to wash it out?

It might depend on how long it had been run for, e.g. state of the plugs.

The engine should be OK. It's oil anyway. More likely to bugger up the injectors.

But how and from where? I could siphon everything out of the fuel tank but is there something else i should do before i try to start it up again? A quick google suggests draining from the petcock which clears the carburetor, but apparently if it's fuel injected it doesn't have a petcock. Does that mean i don't need to worry about anything but siphoning out the tank? is there no other place in the bike that will be full of diesel that shouldn't be?

I’d siphon the fuel out of the tank, remove it, remove any fuel lines you can and wash them through with petrol. Wash the tank out with petrol, refit it and the fuel lines, fill it with petrol, fire it up and prey.

This is all a guess. Not sure if you can get the diesel out of the injectors or if air in the fuel lines will cause problems.

Drain the tank and all the fuel pipes by disconnecting the fuel hose that feeds the fuel pump, everything should just drain out, disconnect the fuel feed to the injectors and switch the ignition on, this should make the fuel pump clear everything out of it, but may not.
Put everything back together, fill the tank up with Super Unleaded and run the bike until it stops smoking from the exhaust.
You'll have done a nice job of rust proofing the inside of the exhaust by the way.

When a 'mate' accidentally put a couple of gallons of diesel into his katana, without running it and draining the shit out it, smoked like a Cz for about a week.
Treat it to a tank of premium to stop any knocking and learn the lesson

Set it on fire in the woods, claim on the insurance. I'm sure you fancied a new bike anyway.
