Dovi is good to a good start. Heads up FP2 and showing some real speed again. Lets see what qualifying brings up though.

Lorenzo out with a massive highside, stretchered off 2 weeks after breaking a foot. In his place I'd sit this one out, the title is realistically out of reach and he'd probably be better off coming back fit for the next one. But hey, world champions do ride when they're not supposed to, so who knows...

Moto 3 was great
moto gp ,meh,usual save tyres and race on last lap
flag to flag racing on moto gp is starting to become a thing of the past,shame because the rider ability and machinery is at an all time high

Were we watching the same race? That was epic! And sporting to the last despite some of the closest, no-quarters-given racing I've ever been privileged to see. A breath of fresh air after some of the bad smells that have been thrown around in the past.

As for the race. A bit of what Tomcat says and a bit of Mel. My first impression after watching was ‘another tyre saving race’ but to be fair 10 laps left they did pull the pin and there was a lot of really good racing in there. Nice to see the Yamaha’s in the mix again, even if for me they finished in the wrong order.

think where we differ is highlighted in your what makes a good race series answer.
I just cant get my head around manageing the tyres,i think it leads to a first couple of laps race--then all staying in line--and then the final few laps racing.
I do accept when they actually race it is excellent ,i just personally feel the "Manageing" is just takeing far more time than the actual racing a formula which f1 has followed and within reason after the first corner the leader wins,bikes not quite to that level yet but getting there.
moto 3 always seems to have good racing and has for years,maybe because there learning there trade to become the next alliens,and the real alliens are just too dam good and make it a little bit boring untill the last lap race begins
