Oops. Egg all over Pentagon's face - US weapons systems can be 'easily hacked'

And just to add to their woes - F-35 jets: US military grounds entire fleet

Grounding an aircraft type is not really an unusual occurrence, it happens from time to time when there's a safety concern that needs investigating.

Granted the crash that caused the grounding isn't routine, this is however the first one to crash which considering it's a brand new aircraft type is quite spectacular

The US Marines started using their B variant jets in live strikes in Afghanistan at the tail end of September and the Israelis have used their A variant jets in live strikes in Syria as well. Given that there have been no loses, I'd say they were ready.

Anyway, it's a non story. They've identified a possible fault on a colossally complex weapon system and decided to take it out of service to check which aircraft are actually affected. It's completely unsurprising.

    The hackable hardwar however...
