... appears to be one of two options:

    1. A hard border between Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic which would preserve the integrity of the UK.

    or

    2. A soft border between Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic which would require a hard border in the Irish Sea which would effectively mean Northern Ireland leaving the UK.

    What say you?

Option 2 appears to only be a problem to the DUP.

And the only reason that anybody is taking any notice of them at all is that they are propping up May's travesty of a government. If she didn't need them then they would have been completely ignored.

They are not even representing the wishes of the electorate of Northern Ireland which voted, by some margin, to remain in the EU. They are only interested in pushing their own twisted agenda.

Where's Option #3. We invade Flanders, we still have enough Spitfires to overwhelm the Frenchy airforce

What's wrong with option 3) no hard borders anywhere. I don't recall passing a hard border on the way into Norway, and they're not in the EU.

Given a bit of sense there's no need to make anyone's life any more difficult than it needs to be.

In the power index it might be a close thing as they are above us .

That's my view. We won't enforce a hard border. If the EU want one then Ireland can put one up, or put one between Ireland and the EU. Borders have two sides.

Flanders is in Belgium, have the dastardly French now invaded Belgium? Bastards.

There's a distinct shortage of that in Bruxelles.

I like you irie, but it’s threads like this and the relentless, monotonous drive to talk of nothing but Brexit that is making this forum increasingly hard to stomach.

Be interesting to get a tally comparison of threads started between remain/leave posters.

    Fuck the DUP.
Fuck the need to have stupid, regressive conversations that serve only to drive division
Fuck brexit. Stay or leave I don’t care anymore, but the fucking pensioner-satisfying drone is akin to pixelated tinnitus

To be honest I don't think it'll be "relentless" for much longer - it does seem to be Brexit "crunch" time so given that these now appear to be the only two options on the table it did seem reasonable to ask peoples opinion as to which of the two they preferred. Sorry if this offended you. Or perhaps you've been hitting the bottle a bit hard this evening?

Good point, never thought of that - if they want a border let them build it!

Amazes me that these are even tabled as options.

Amazed as in not amazed, the desperation of Brexiteers to have their shit sandwich and savour every morsel of it.
