Any questions mate let me know and if i cant answer them i will refer them to Adam as he was the planning guru for the trip. I think i still have our routes somewhere on sat nav files but his original ones were Garmin i converted to Tom Tom which didnt really work as the unit i had wasnt up to it so we ended up using his sat nav and i led on some bits where there were no obvious detours .

To ride there from UK involves big miles to get there and back in a couple of days at the start and finish but the time there is worth the pain on those days unless you take the ferry to Hook Of Holland which eases it..... we also rode all through Denmark and Sweden whereas there is a ferry from Denmark to Norway but fuel was cheaper for us than the few hours it saved ....plus it gave us the Oversund crossing to ride along/through which starts as a tunnel and ends in a bridge

The only disappointing thing about the route we are taking is that it goes Denmark-Norway and Sweden-Denmark by ferry. Which is boring - I would have liked to do the tunnel/bridge thing.

    Boiing!

Time is getting short now, just got all the details and about to attempt to load the files into the sat nav.

Off on 26 July and it looks as though the total mileage will be a bit over 4000 IF I don't go far on the 'rest' days.

May be able to post a bit en-route, but expect a longer report after I'm back on 16 August.

Good stuff! The Nordkapp is on my to-do list as well, being similarly a retired old giffer with time to do it. My rough route will take me through northern Europe, the Baltic states (interestingly the route can take me through the capital of every country I pass through, which is a nice sightseeing opportunity) then up Finland to the Nordkapp and down the west coast of Norway. Thence to Sweden and Denmark across the Øresund Bridge and ferry to Faroes and Iceland (there's a deal where the bike goes free if you stop for 3 days in the Faroes). Back to Denmark and back home via Germany and Holland.

This year I shall mostly be heading south to Croatia then down Italy to Malta and back up, about 6,000 miles and 2 months. Leaving the day after the TRC trackday. Can't see a problem with that

Your planned route sounds a bit more adventurous than mine! I don't get to Nordkapp, I only just sneak over the Arctic Circle.

The 2 months trip sounds great, but SWMBO is not happy with me swanning off for 3 weeks. Asking for 2 months off could result in being invited to take 20 years.

And we are off. Stopped off at Bristol en route to Harwich. Traffic coming out of Cornwall was 'busy'. I have revived my filtering skills, ready for the M25 tomorrow.

Got lost, got found. Holland is very flat and a bit boring. Cossing into Germany shortly.

So long as you didn't eat at the Harwich truck stop opposite the ferry terminal you'll live.

Hope you didn't get too wet, it was very soggy Saturday
