Seems there's a million new bikes been revealed at the EICMA....

I'll start off with the re-styled Honda CB650R, designed to fit in with the rest of the Cafe-Neo range....

Apart from a couple of bits it doesn’t look too different from my old Honda 919 or detuned naked Fireblade. Nice though.

Have still got the rad cover and the very posh Sato rear sets.

Trying to decide if I like this Husky. Lovely black minimalism and a single pot! Nice from the front side but not from the back.

    That's a Svartpilen 401, not a Vartpilen 701.

Phew! A bit pricey at nearly 9k given the competition.

    701 and 401

I've been having a sniff around some new bikes, impressive so far are the new Triumph 1200 XC, the KTM790 Adventure and the Kawasaki 900RS.
This year looks like there are going to be some really nice bikes released, including some smaller bikes that look interesting.

Definitely an improvement over the last few years.

I sat on the 900RS in the showroom and it felt nice, but the tank is huge, very bulbous.
There is a 5,000 mile report in the January edition of Bike and they mostly love it, the throttle is very snatchy and the suspension is terrible apparently, but 900 on the suspension at KTech transforms it and after that you can probably get it mapped so it feels nicer on the throttle.

The gist of the story is if you like the looks then the overall package is so good that you'll forgive it everything else - but the suspension does need doing.

The weak pound means that everything feels expensive out here at the moment, I think you can get a 2018 900RS in the UK for ten grand, perhaps even deals to push it under that, but out here it would cost me about 11.5k.
It's all wooden dollars I suppose because the same price would have been 8k-something when the pound was strong a couple of years ago, but even so, it still makes me think I'm not really getting a good enough deal to make me start spending money, it makes far more sense to just send the money back to the UK and let it sit in the bank.
