DeWalt. Screwfix. 40 quid. Comfortable from the first time you put them on your feet and last for years.

What size feet? I've a pair of size 11 boots here that were issued to me, I've worn them for a total of about 2 hours I think. I've been issued new boots for whatever reason. Yours if you want them, they're going a clothing bank otherwise. I don't want them as I prefer rigger boots. They've got slightly scuffed toecaps.

    Made by these people: http://www.magnumboots.com/uk/

Magnums? Fwarr if I was an 11 I'd be all over that like a shot . Sadly, I'm size 9, it'll never work.

Thanks very much though . I've been wearing Magnums for years as it goes since I stopped despatching as my biking boots. No ankle protection of course, hiking boots, but were lovely comfortable. I think I started a thread a while back asking for glue advice for fixing them after the sole finally started to flap off. Fixed 'em, still use 'em, but no steel toe cap and scuffed to hell.

I've bought the 47.99 Screwfix ones, thank you 1888. It's a bit iffy as the crap contract job I'm doing demands black boots, customer facing, and these are black but have grey soles. If the job starts getting funny about it I might tell 'em where to go, lol. Always amazes me how a jobsworth manager can get stupid about small details of footwear that nobody is going to observe, ridiculous, and I have no patience any more for silly bollocks.

Or perhaps I'll get a Sharpie out .

I usually get eight or so months out of those Dewalts but I actually work in them and no boots last much better.

If you're challenged, buy a pot of black leather dye and paint the sides.

Worn the Dewalts today and I have to say, I'm in agony, have been for hours. Toes hurt under the toenail, bottom of feet all over are sore as fuck. Not rubbing or anything like that, it's just the sole is too hard. I put a gel insert into them as well at lunch time and didn't help. I've been wearing a pair of Skechers trainers pretty much exclusively for the last year or so, and I think my feet might have just got so used to them and their nice soft sole that anything else is a horror story.

So it's a choice between hoping my feet toughen up again or possibly trying some Skechers work wear stuff. I've got a shift tomorrow and it's a no-brainer that it's going to be as bad or worse. So Sunday I think I'm going to go to a Skechers shop and see if their workwear shoes are anything like as comfortable as my trainers, because it's so bad I really don't like the thought of toughing it out, feels like I'll do myself an injury. And I am no stranger to being on feet all day, but I think I have just softened up recently.

    I am now a captive market .

I had exactly the same problem when I worked in a refrigerated warehouse,
on me feet all day walking around picking orders on concrete floor and it was an absolute killer on my feet
but no one else seemed to complain, I got talking to one of the guys and he said they
all used cardboard insoles they made from packing boxes, I made two for each boot and
had no comfort issues after that.

In the old factory up north, if stood for long while on a line we'd put a bit of cardboard on the floor to stand on, did genuinely help. Maybe I'll try the cardboard insole thing, nothing to lose right now lol.

Wearing sketchers has made your feet soft, try walking about barefoot / socks when at home which will help.

Also, the cardboard insert underneath the insole (or see if you have a soft insole from a pair of trainers that fits) is a good idea on warehouse floors as the concrete is usually cold and sucks the heat from your feet. Just make sure you have enough room in the boot, you don't want to restrict blood flow or press the tops of your toes under the caps.
