Got to do a hospotal run in 30 mins, which means me waiting. Might as well go to Tesco round the corner. What can they bugger up the least for an extra-breakfast or mid morning snack please? Sossies IME in supermarket cafes are appalling & bacon not much better.

    TIA

Our local Tesco cafe used to be aces a full English was superb... I popped in ages ago for one but it had been turned into a Costa. Costa breakfast is awful.

    Black coffee.
But if you must eat, and if there is a cafe, go buy a rustlers burger and a pack of cooked bacon, assemble 4 slices of bacon on the burger and nuke it in the microwave reserved for heating milk bottles for babies often found in the cafe.

I try to avoid supermarket cafe's.

I had a stint as to where i would go shopping, leave the wife at home and get myself a meal in the cafe, but the last few times i have been in them they have been like a creche, literally kids running and shouting everywhere. The parents just sit their drinking their endless refills of sprite and orange fanta that they balance on their massively overweight stomach's whilst looking on their phones to see what new tracksuit they can buy with their dole money next week!

I had to say something last time i was in the local tesco cafe as the kids were running around throwing ketchup all about the place etc, and all i got is a load of abuse from the chavved up mothers.

I just go to the pub now, just about a better option!

They are all identical so you can be sure any advice will be useful

Last Supermarket breakfast I had was at Morrisons in Kettering about 10 years ago with a mate who lived round the corner and used it regularly with his toddler son.
It was really good and stupidly cheap

Thought the pub chains were championing the breakfast trade, or is that just at weekends?

Anything in Tescos cafe will be better than the crap they sell in hospital cafes and a tesco fry up will probably be cheaper that a hospital coffee.

What I did. Wasn't bad actually. Wasn't brilliant though.

wifi is so slow you have to wait for the letters you typed to display...

OTOH it's the students' Tesco. Flipping rude a lot of them. Earphones on, not even so much as a hello or thank you to the check out staff, who were very responsive if you actually spoke with them.

Bit of a snapshot, but from what I saw driving around & in Tesco there is a huge amount of oriental students. I'd say over 50%. Guess that's where the income is from the Uni's POV.

greggs is hard to beat at two quid for a butty and a latte

yup, and a fair few unis are investing pretty heavily on the assumption they'll keep coming. i think they should keep a closer eye on the east asian rankings.
