I don't dislike it... whether i'd want one is open to debate as i think it would be limited for me as a bike.... but if i lived and worked in a City or something... i could get on it. Not with that spacko helmet though

Perfect for me here, or perfect for me up in the Lakes on the country roads by me.

Find a Derbi Mulhacen (you'll have to check the spelling), it has a Yamaha XT660X engine and flat track styling

The Honda you linked to is a CRF450 with different bodywork, wouldn't be hard for a reasonable bike builder to do.
You can buy complete flat tracker kits for 450MX engines from the US http://www.ronwoodracing.com/index.p...formation_id=4

If the trail versions are anything to go by they are very much built down to a price, as you would expect from their set up and price point.

I know a couple of guys with them and both of them describe them as work in progress, they maybe a reasonable trail bike once they've sorted the wrinkles. One is a retired engineer with his own workshop which is handy as the front wheel spindle is only 15mm (same as my mountain bike), which would be ok if it were not for the fact that compression is in one fork leg, rebound in the other and the old boy has bent two spindles and he ain't no Travis Pastrana. Luckily he's converted another spindle and bored out the fork legs to take a bigger one, something he's doing for the other bloke who was wondering why his wheel is slightly crooked.

He's also chasing fueling issues without much luck, Haines are helping him with their specs. It's not helped by the fact that there isn't a workshop manual available.

I wasn't impressed with the design when I looked at them, for the money a S/H KTM made more sense for me. If you like to tinker, are happy to modify/rectify and not expecting Jap reliability then it could be a fun bike, especially in the Lakes.

These people are the go to people for Fantic trail bikes in the uk.

Love the look of the Fantic, all the dimensions etc just work. The CCM's are totally the opposite, they remind me of some Chinese bikes, the geometry and lines just looks wrong. I bet the Fantic is one of those bikes that look even better in a real world situation, if that makes sense. Hope you end up getting one.

You could always look at it as a project from day 1 and inspect & upgrade everything that needs it,
Maybe give it 70bhp while you're at it

“Hi, in the first 500 km I found following issues: reserve tank for cooling water broken, red casing on the left side broken, after 5 minutes normal rain was water in the head lamp, part of the seat venyl was probably heated up to smooth crinkles, so it looks different (greasy). Broken parts will be substituted for free, but take some time. Engine works realy nice, I am still in love with this bike!”

I can't imagine what sort of monster would create that and then put pictures of it up for public consumption.
    It's hideous.

I'd rather ride a fully customised Bellwood than that.
