Often you'll read us wittering on that "Practice doesn't make perfect, it makes permanent - so practice the perfect".

Turns out we're a couple of thousand years late!

    from Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics:
“These virtues are formed in man by his doing the actions”
    &
“Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.”

That is actually a misquote, Aristotle did come up with the quote "As it is not one swallow or a fine day that makes a spring, so it is not one day or a short time that makes a man blessed and happy".

A bloke called Will Durant in the 1920's (iirc) then came up with the quote including the "Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit".

F*ck knows how he came up with that from Aristotles quote mind you!!

Whoever said it though, it's a good one to use

Basically, Aristotle believed that every time you behaved unkind and immorally - performing actions your soul was not proud of - you tarnished your soul. The worst shape your soul became in, the worst shape your mood and spirit.
