    I remember the day my wife's brand new set of alloys were delivered. She drove right down to the tyre shop to have them balanced and fitted and the tracking done.

    On the way back she drove past a jutting kerb exactly the same as she always did. Except the new wheels had half an inch more offset than the old ones.

    The pulled up outside the flat with dents in the front and rear rims and gouges out of the tyres. Less than a mile on them.
