It hardly seems a moment that I was here writing about last year's tour of New Zealand but in just a couple of days I'm heading out to Kiwiland again, to hear around the country to over a dozen different events from Auckland to Invercargill.

I'll be out there delivering my 'Science Of Being Seen' (SOBS) presentation once again. Last year we got (as best I can determine) over 5000 of the country's 65,000 active motorcyclists through the doors at the events.

Also on the tour are Brittany Morrow, who will be talking candidly about the life-changing injuries she suffered after falling at high speed from a bike with inadequate riding kit, Dr Chris Hurren who spends his time destructively-testing bike clothing in a quest to improve manufacturer standards, and suspension guru Dave Moss.

Last year Suzuki NZ provided a V-Strom 1000 for our 5000km ride around the islands, this year Yamaha will be supplying the bikes. As of now, I don't know what I'll be riding.

We kick off in Nelson on Sunday 3 February and we finish up in Auckland on Monday 4 March.

I'll be updating my FB page regularly www.facebook.com/survivalskills and will definitely give you an update when I get back but as I'm having a short holiday at the end of the trip, that'll be mid-March

LOL it is actually quite a schedule - we've got three one-day events, one two-day event, one three-dayer and half a dozen evening events, which come at the end of a long day's riding...

One event last year, we made it to one of them just after 6pm, had time for a cuppa and to peel the bike kit off, and I was straight onto the podium and running my presentation! Supper was a few complimentary sandwiches and that was it Finished 9:30, chatted till maybe 10 to anyone who wanted to talk, had a quick beer in the bar and then went to bed.

Next day, breakfast at 7:30, on the bike at 9 and repeat
