Do you have any suggestions as to some of the better British videos on YouTube for refreshing one’s riding skills? In particular, bends, junctions and cornering.

    Thank You.

You don’t need YouTube videos; just have them on the brakes then get it reet over.

For machine control stuff Jerry 'Motorman' Paladino's DVDs are good, so his online videos may be.

Have a look for Kent police 'Riding Plane's, old (1980s) but good. It's online in chunks, so try to watch them in the correct order.

If any of the Great Roads Great Rides are on there, they may be helpful (TBH I've not watched them for years).

For comedy value, Street Track Open Road, the London courier section.

Code's Twist 2 is on in full - but I found that I only understood the dvd from already having a good understanding of what it's on about. But worth a try

A superb find Bike Breaker. Must watch again to do some car spotting. Noticed a Bubble car.

See if you can find Bikesafe 2000. It's from Thames Valley police and pretty good.

I'd send you a copy of the West Midlands Bikesafe vid but I'm in NZ and not sure I have access... let me have a look tommorrow

Thank You Doctor. Always enjoy reading your posts. Engaging and interesting if not thought provoking.

Found a few of Thames Valley Police. Cheers.

As it happens, I've been running the sub-titled 'Great Roads Great Rides 2' on-road video with Glen Julian on a loop on the TV at the Burt. Good response as hardly anyone had seen it... some of the coppers and instructors were interested in it too.

Better to learn from doing than watching. You could do worse than buying some mini cones and finding a disused patch of tarmac and with some friends or alone practising tight turns at low speed, braking drills and standing the bike up and dropping it in. Basically, the stuff beginners hate. [it won't let me post links but just search youtube for 'Japanese gymkana' - top links will be experts but you get the idea, or scroll down to see merely experienced riders]. Edit: 'japanese lady gymkana' is a good one on youtube

This will always work well. As long as you're self-aware and can be analytical when observing changes in inputs and outputs from your experiences. Oh, and make sure you don't drop the bike gathering those experiences

Watch some of the Motorman Paladino videos first and you'll save a lot of potential grief

You seem to contradict yourself by saying better to do than watch, then tell people what to watch!

Of course, any skill needs to be practiced but remember - practice makes PERMANENT, and NOT perfect... so you need to be sure you're practicing the perfect!

He’s local to me. He used to do a lot a stuff with the local council and bike section back when they used to engage with motorcyclists. With budgetary cuts and mergers that’s all gone by the wayside now locally and Glenn is running a DAS school in Redcar.
