Well optimate type charger anyway, its the Oxford version. Put the bike on charge as its been resting a while, after a few days it wasn't fully lit so I left it on and now its just showing a red light. It's not a major issue as I have a brand new spare on one of the others, but I've never had a battery die while being looked after..

Check connections are secure switch of and back on. Sometimes a slight knock on any of the connections makes the charger get amnesia

I had a MotoBatt on one of these and it wasn't taking charge after a while, stuck at around 4.7v. I lput it on a Halfords trickle charger for a few days and it came back to life.

Give it a shock with something else

I have been meaning to cut out the rubbishy connector since I got it.. I think I'll pull the battery before I try it again. It just seemed odd as this charger has brought some nasty old batteries back to life and suddenly its killed one.

My Optimate does that trick too, and needs it's connector changed. However I am a lazy sod, and it works with an occasional switch off and on again to remind it who is boss. As far as I am concerned the red light just means the Optimate is playing tricks, the battery is OK, just not charged yet.
