WHY? The only reason and purpose for this fundraising!

Will's Way (https://willsway.org/) is a little known local (to Yorkshire) charity that helps children who suffer from brain injuries and conditions. It also helps parents by providing support during what can be a crisis and giving them strength for the next.

The support that Wills Ways gives enables children and their families to attend hospitals and other medical centres so that they can access health care provision for Neurosurgical and Cancer treatment in the Leeds NHS Hospital Trust and similar facilities in Yorkshire, which are not normally provided by the statutory authorities, and to enhance the comfort and well-being of patients and their relatives.

Will's Way is close to my heart as my own daughter has benefited from their support while in Leeds General Infirmary due to epilepsy.

If you're able, I'd love it if you could make a donation, however big or small, to help me achieve the goal of helping Will's Way to help others.

HOW? How can we support Will's Way?

It's simple really, I am looking to raise an amount of money that will make a difference to this little known charity. Something that will truly make a difference!

WHAT? What am I going to do?

Throughout 2019 I will be running around 15 different endurance/obstacle course/running events. These will take me up Mount Snowdon, around Lizard Point in Cornwall, up and around the Lake District, the Scottish Borders, and also locally around Baildon / Otley moors in Yorkshire. All approximate marathon distances and all very hilly and tough. I will also be running various muddy obstacle course events with distances ranging from 10 to 30 km.

The biggest challenge will be a 111 km mile coast to coast ultra run from Carlisle to Newcastle, following Hadrian's Wall. The second largest will be Tenerife 0-4-0, a 60k trail run from sea level to the peak of Teide (3718m) and back again.

In total, this is around 550 km of grueling, energy-sapping, sanity questioning events. Some of which will push me way outside my comfort zone. I don't even want to guess at how many training kilometres! However, these challenges pale in comparison to those faced by the children Will's Way supports.

    What events I am running?

This is my current event schedule, I fully expect and intend to do more...

For the Social Media people here, here are some pictures of the events and activities done so far:

Finally, just to demonstrate that these events are not some kind of jaunty fun run. Here is a before and after from the event I ran in March (30km, 5.5 hours, 1300m of elevation climb, snow, submerged in water, sub zero at the top of elevations)

What's wrong with raising money by sitting indoors with a nice cup of tea?

    Done.
