    Morning All,
Looking to hear experiences and recommendations from people who have insured a trackbike for the road. Iíve not had a road bike since November 2017, so Iím thinking about sticking a policy on the trackbike just to keep the no claims going and I might even take it out he odd run if I can be bothered getting it motíd. Obviously Iím gonna need a horn, a number plate and a reflector. Plus it would be good to be able to give it a wee shake down after Iíve done any work on it. I hate that feeling of heading down the pit lane without having really had the chance to make sure everythingís ok.

The bike is a k6 GSXR750 and isnít really heavily modified, track bodywork, subframes, clipons, leavers, quick shifter and exhaust.

Just insure it like a road bike, you'll need a speedo for an MOT - but it doesn't have to work.

Took my gixxer6 to the local garage with ragged supercorsas, race seat, no lights, and the plate gaffered on. It did have the standard can and a functioning horn.
    No problems for the MOT.
As for the insurance, I may have been selective with my answers. But as it unlikely to have been put back on the road by myself, no harm, no foul.

My track bike is just a road bike without mirrors and a rear plate. Don't know why people get so hung up on a track bike needing to be fully track faired, it's just posing and posturing at best.

Thatís basically all I was thinking about doing, but yeah when all the mods are declared it goes through the roof.

I just declared all the mods including no lights, track fairings etc and rode on the road for several years like that, never got a pull form PC Plod either - Just be up-front with insurer.
MOT time was no problem - try to find a place that deals with classic bikes. They understand the issues around no lights, exhausts etc far better than the average MOT guy.

The bike was a write off I bought from formula400 on here. Otherwise I wouldíve just taken the mirrors and plate off it. Most of the things apart from the exhaust and QS needed replaced.
