    Is it worth a call to a suspension specialist? Depending on where you are there should be some decent options. MCT and Ktech get good reviews and should be able to advise on what's possible with standard and what options on aftermarket.

    The other thing to consider is wheels, tyres and brakes. Typically if you fit a new fork, you'll fit a whole new front end. In doing so you'll typically upgrade to more modern brakes, a tyre size you can get radials for, and a lighter rim. If you just change the fork internals, you don't have any of those benefits.
