But it will make a brilliant garden toy for your children. Clean, I doubt it's ever been in the water.

Free to whoever wants it, and I can deliver it in late July to anywhere off the usual routes heading south from west Scotland, including down through to Falmouth.

Might be better off with an actual tent.

How about I redescribe it as a bunded tent for liquid storage?

Why is it not fit for life saving use on water?

Would it transport me and my 50 relatives across the Med? Asking for a friend.

Falmouth, you say? Leave it in the car park of the boat museum (museum is well-worth a visit anyway), with a scrawled note which says "I've been adrift for 15 days. Food and water have run out and "

Because it's time expired. There's no inflation cylinder nor any of the safety gear. No boarding ladder, sea anchors, righting line nor whistle. The light on the top is still there hut has no battery.

One of the conditions was that I remove all the above before I gave them away.

It would make a great toy for someone's garden, but PLEASE don't let the kids take it to the beach!

Apart from being time expired it will drift like hell in an offshore wind, and, even if it stays in the bay with no wind, it will result in a dozen calls to the coastguard and the local lifeboat being launched.

Nip over to Calais and put a for sale sign on it. Be gone in a few minutes.

Sorry, but no. One of the conditions of my having them was they never went back into use as safety kit. Hence all the fittings being removed. If ever I hear of a usable one I'll remember you.

    Fair one. And thanks.

Might the RNLI or anyone running a 'sea survival' course find a use for it?
