Can anyone recommend a good oil filter for a Kawasaki ER6-f 2010. Was looking at four different ones at sportsbikeshop but can't make up my mind?

Is there really much difference between them?

I've used hi flo, k&n and OEM with no problems, Kawasaki ones might not be that expensive.

Same as that really. I think i have a K&N on the ZX6R currently, but that was mostly for the nut on the end to undo it.

I've heard a lot of horror stories about K&N oil filters. There was actually a recall on a batch of them a few years ago.

I pretty much always buy OEM these days, they're only a few quid more than something like a hi-flo.

Always used Hi Flo in the past but using OEM in the 690 as it's part of the kit.

Always used Champion and have done 100k miles on a couple of Burgmans with them no issues. Stuck them on all sorts of bikes from a ZZR1400 to Bmw's I do have a Halfords trade card so get them for about 6
Find yours here. Good quality filters in my view and somewhat cheaper than OEM ones where the name tag doubles the price

I suppose there might be a difference, and the old argument goes, if a filter collapses it could trash your engine. If you've used an OE one you may have some comeback on the manufacturer. But saying that I've used Hi-Flo for many years and not experienced any problems.

In regards to maccecht's earlier post, do you mean you only change your oil filter every 50k lol ??

I use HiFlo on the CB500S (62K miles and still sweet as a nut).
I used OE filters on the Daytona (45K miles before I lobbed it), and that ran equally well.
I'll probably use OE on the Thruxton too.

I reckon HiFlo will be just fine on your ER6.
