My old 996 would set off car alarms when I started it in the underground car park, my Speed Triple is basically straight through by virtue of the fact all the stuffing's fallen out of the silencer I've never had any attention from the filth for it.

I kind of miss my one, there was something great about just cruising along with the put put sound. Went alright after I put a new battery in it, I did bugger the forks riding down a flight of stairs...and all for about 300 at the time.

Amost bought this one, but it was double the price.

My 95 fireblade has a rather basic sp engineering can on it (had it off this afternoon and it consists of not very much )
MOT yesterday and not even mentioned - the bandit gets an advisory every time .

A 650 Interceptor made an appearance in tonight's DeadEnders (yeah so I watch soaps).

I should get a test ride, see if they're as characterful as the Bullet. They're pretty cheap.

Was watching a Missenden Flyer youtube vid on the Interceptor the other day and he seemed to like it. I think he mentioned that it has 3k mile valve checks or something which would tiresome.

Edit: just checked online and it says 10k kilometers so 6k miles. So must be 3k mile services and a valve check every other one.

There's some weirdness about the servicing... it's every 3k, but they only change the oil every 6k. The 3k service is 45 and they just check it over.

The RE service manual says to do the tappets at first service (500km), then every 10,000km.

I don't have to worry about that stuff on my Bullet, it's got hydraulic tappets like a car.

Both of my cars are bucket and shim, like all 3 of my bikes.

Some Hagon 2810'a arrived. Fitting was interesting. The top bolts can't be fully withdrawn due to the rear mudguard getting in the way.... good old Enfield have thought of this tho' loosen a couple of bolts and the whole mudguard assembly pivots up out of the way. Nice.

Went out Sunday with the local bike club. A motley collection of bikes, the next 'slowest' power wise was Ron on his 650 Interceptor, which is still at least 20bhp up on the Bullet... almost 50% more power!

I was the only one with a pillion too.

I had to thrash the tits off it to keep up, they'd pull away on the straights, but I'd make it all up on the bends

The shocks are brilliant, so much better than the tired OEM ones with a pillion.

I swear the bike is getting faster/smoother. It had just over 8k on the clock when I got it, it's had 1k of me thrashing it and now hits 80mph two up no problem and at 70mph it's no more vibey than it is at 50mph.

At a cafe stop I swapped bikes with Ron for a short blast while the others were finishing their breakfasts.

The Interceptor is lovely, it goes, stops and handles as well as anything the Nips build... but it's too refined, the ride made me appreciate the 'character' of my 500 even more

It's defo a keeper. So much more fun than the Tiger. Get's a lot more attention than all the other bikes when parked up too.

My nephew has one that he hardly ever uses, I think I might offer free garaging facilities for the occasional run out to blow the cobwebs off.

I've not ridden a 'stock' one, I don't know how much difference the pipe, K&N and PCV make... I've a feeling it's quite a lot!

I'm quoting the speedo, it could be wildly off, I need to get my Satnag mounted to check the real speed.
