Sadly those of us with some knowledge would be able to spot them, but the kids who think they are getting a bargain will just see the Arai and AGV badges and not be able to tell the difference

I was discussing this with the wife.

Both of us would assume that an Arai under £200 was either 2nd hand or fake.

Some people just aint that switched on.

I subscribe to the theory that if it's too good to be true, it's probably a scam.

Surely itís a bit bloody obvious if a brand new lid is that much cheaper then of course itís dodgy.
If it looks to good to be true it usually is.

To an experienced rider, perhaps... but check out all the 'clearance deals' run by genuine dealers. I was looking at helmets just y'day and they had a few 'bin ends' they were clearing out - including £59 each for two XS-sized and brand new helmets retailing at over £230.

We've all bought cheap shite on eBay at some point or another thinking it'll be fine, and usually after the disappointment we swear not to do it again.

What if that time wasn't some anodised bar ends, but a helmet?

Dodgy, yes, but if the seller says that they are stolen, any concerns about being fake go away!
