Looking to add an external aerial to my DAB radio. I was thinking the screw in connector like a sky dish would be best but dont know what i am looking for. I would just take one out the back of a sky box but chucked the spare one a couple of month back through lack of use.

    What are these things called?

Most DAB boxes use a SMB connector for an external aerial.

Since found out the are called F connectors. You must have set up a sky box at some point. The coax screw end is an F connector. I need the part that goes into the back of the box and solders into the circuit board. Old school push in TV connector would do also.

You know, i have never managed to find time to do anything with that yet. Trying to be 100% self employed so being gardening its busy this time of year. I dont trust leaving it outside in my slabbed garden on paddock stands to change tyre and fork seals. May spend this weekend clearing the shed and pop it in there backwards. At least this way i can work in the front on the odd evening. Yes though ill still have them tyres when you get time to wrap them up. No great hurry though as this looks like its ending up a winter project as i get quiet at the end of August.

As for the connections i have plenty ends myself cheers. Found an old TV double wall socket that i think i will use instead. I am sure there must be a F connector to TV addapter out there if need be.
