    A friend has one, he says it eats pads and discs if you drive it in a spirited way regularly, which he does.

    Dunno bout the xf but I have a mate with a slightly older jag and Id have to say you need to watch out for salt.
    If theres any on the road, don't drive the Jag on it.

    Iíve done 60k in mine now, itís had one set of pads and discs (although will probably need another in the next 5k or so). If you drive them in town a lot they use the rear pads quite quickly as the braking system biases to the rear to prevent unseemly bonnet dip when braking at low speed.

    Itís the only car in the last 12 years that Iíve kept beyond 4 years old- I genuinely canít think of anything this side of a Bentley Iíd rather have. I certainly prefer it to the BMW 530, Mercs C and E class that preceded it
