My E92 330SE had the sports shocks and seats from the M-Sport.

I thought it was standard 330 thing as all the 325's I looked at didn't.

Have you put the VIN into a decoder yet?

No. Until last night it was just parked at the back of the drive and i hadn't been anywhere near it. I've started it using it now so that will change. I'll look into more things about it and familiarise myself with the different models etc. TBH on teh drive home from buying it I thought id made a mistake, but I'm a lot happier with it now.

The tiptronic box will feel like you're driving with the handbrake on, until you knock it across into Sports, then it feels like a totally different car.

Dunno if the E90s are the same, but my F30 doesn't even have a manual It's all in the iDrive system.

Not sure tbh, as i've not opened the BMW wallet that came with it yet!

Mine has the iDrive manual but also a paper one. I haven't even worked out how to use the heater properly yet. I have worked out how to put it in sport plus mode and boot the fucker though.

The various modes don't actually make a difference to the engine power so far as I can work out, they just change the pedal mapping. My car defaults to being in Eco Pro mode, that just means the first half of the pedal only does a quarter of the power (or something along those lines, I don't know the exact numbers obviously). If you turn on the live power readouts on the iDrive the values don't change in the various modes.

I used to both changing it into a different mode, but I don't any more. I've driven so much in Eco mode that my foot/brain is just calibrated to that. Booting it is booting it

The only slight buggeration is that by habit I exaggerate heel-and-toe quite a lot because the first half of the throttle pedal is pretty numb. That's not an issue until I drive Mrs. D's super-revvy Civic Type-R, at which point I have stupidly over the top revving on downshifts for a while.

If you hold the button on the fob to unlock the door down for a few seconds it does a 'comfort' opening.

Which means in lowers the windows a bit making it easier to get in if you're parked close to something.

Sports mode = push the gear change from D to the left into S.

I assume you shove it to the left like my Merc but just haven't tried it yet.

I can count on one had the amount of times I changed gear. In sports mode it does a good job of changing itself. If you floor it in sports mode it'll go right to the redline before it changes up.

I only really used the paddles to knock it down a gear when I was preparing to over take (because sometimes the kick down didn't happen fast enough for my liking).
