    Suzuki SV650.

I've never owned one, but my mate bought a mk1 brand new, I thought it was shite.

It's on it's 3rd iteration, there was the original 'curvy' the sharper looking 'pointy' and the current 'don't know the nickname' model.

They seem really popular as minitwin race bikes, but don't seem to cut the mustard as Supertwins.

Anyone had one, still got one, raced one?

    Default Happy 21st Birthday

I had a curvy it was ace! Proper fun bike to ride. I kinda miss it despite the Brutale being better in every way.

They ride fairly well but look and feel exceptionally cheap. I've only ridden 2 though, 1 was at Donny though and it wasn't as bad as i expected by a long shot.

I kept saying I'd own one at some point but never have. I'd like a naked one as a cafe racer style road bike for which I think they are perfect and there are a shed load of upgrades for them.

I've had 3 and would have another. Cracking mid range bike, but it is very budget and early ones had that Suzuki shite finish quality that they were pretty infamous for. Chuck a few quid at the suspension and you have a very useable "back road scratcher".

Mate of mine who was a bike journo bought a blue curvey import with his own money.

I remember him landing a wheelie away from some lights in Scuddly wuddly beary beary boohorpe and the thing stopping dead.

Took me 20 mins to spot that the main loom connecter behind the clocks had come undone.

He blagged a Micron exhaust for it, iirc it was when they were doing that colour impregnated carbon, it lasted about 100 miles before the power pulses (yeah surprised me too) made it disintegrate.

I'm supposed to be test riding one Saturday, I'm not sure why as I've no intention of buying one.

    One of the new ones?

I do like the look of the 'x' model, but it's just to tiny for me.

Yep, a brand spangly new one, if I bought one it would be an X, and I'm being offered a good deal on it, but it is a bit budget and it doesn't set my soul alight, for the same money I can get a YZF750SP or half an OW01.

But if you bought a YZF750 you'd need shares in Castrol.

Wifey bought a new one in 2000. It was a nice bike to ride, prone to corrosion on the fork legs and a bit budget. At 6'1" I found the riding position a bit cramped, if I rode it to work I definitely needed to get off after the hour commute.

I had an early one as a hire bike for a month while the CBR600F was being repaired.

I enjoyed riding it and if it rode as well as the CBR600F did, I'd have been tempted with one but jumping back on the CBR really showed the price difference between the two.

I'm sure that they can upgraded to perform that well though

I won't be riding one Saturday now, instead I'll be fixing the leak on my garage roof.
