You almost need a little scanner in the car that flashes the speed limits to you so you know what they are!

I can drive along a rd in Bristol (A4) for a mile and go into 4 different speed limits, i'm sure it's designed to catch you out.

It's hard enough driving along on roads with so many fuck tards about let alone having to remember constant changing speed limits!
You joke, but you can actually get the scanner you want Loads of cars have 'em now, lots can automatically speed up / slow down the cruise control etc. Plenty more also know the limit via the sat nag.

Besides, if you don't see the signs how are you gonna see the kittens etc. etc.

The satnav in the brand new Volvo I borrowed a few weeks ago even warned of changing temporary speed limits.
Apparently a combination of map data and actually reading the signage.

My Mercedes does that, it can even set that as the limit if I'm using the limiter.

At least one person has had a fine overturned after arguing it's not possible to keep up with the info.

The wife has the speed limit display thing in her new Mondeo, and had it in her vw before that, I'd not trust my license to either after spending many thousands of mile as a passenger, and neither could cope with smart motorway signage.
