The Conservatives had "deal" in their manifesto...it said "no deal is better than a bad deal"

That's a promise thats as vague as well...a politician's promise. Makes it sound like you're a tough negotiator while leaving ample room to do what the fuck you like cause there's no definition of 'bad'.

I think the WA is a bad deal BTW. But the "no deal is better etc." line basically means nowt.

"No deal [ie leaving on WTO terms] is better than a bad deal" basically means nothing?

That's such a stupid statement that I don't believe you really mean that.

Unless you define what you mean by "bad" its a meaningless statement.

Anyone can agree that nothing is better than bad in some contexts. It's nothing to do with Brexit it's just a truism. It didn't even need saying.

But politicians said it and gave everyone a soundbite while achieving fuck all. Well not quite fuck all, they made a rod for their own back

A dictionary definition might help your inability to understand what "bad" means in this context. Google is your friend.

They should, proverbially, be beaten with that rod precisely because it does mean something.
It means that 'no deal'* is an option and, indeed, was the default option in the absence of an agreed deal as part of the legislation that Parliament passed into law.

*Obviously there are many deals in place even if we leave without a formal Withdrawal Agreement.

Parliament decided that Theresa May's deal... sorry, I keep doing that...

Parliament decided that the EU's deal was a bad deal. We should have left with no deal at the end of March. All we've achieved by delaying is eight more months of uncertainty.

Eight more months of democracy on an advisory referendum anyway.
    Democracy is the winner here.
