I think it resorts to base settings when disconnected? People often say to disconnect them as a way of eliminating them from the possible cause.

If it was the MAF presuming tomorrow I should know when I do the live reading thing with my new box of magic? I'm hoping it'll highlight anything that outside of a normal reading?

I cleaned a MAF on a Picasso HDI by spraying it with brake cleaner. The black shit that came off of it was incredible. Car must have regained 20+ BHP over the next few miles!

So plugged reader in and got a yellow warning. No stored codes but a pending code which was

P0011 - a camshaft position timing over advanced or system performance bank 1

Cos I'm an idiot and didn't read the manual I've managed to clear this code presumably this will come back if the problem is still there?

The manual (when I read it) said a pending code is an intermittent fault

The reader has a live reading option but I've no idea what I'm looking at. It also has a record function which it says can be set to record when it logs a fault. So assume I set this tomorrow and drive to work.

I did a retest and nothing showed up presumably as the engine will need to have the odd moment to bring the code back.

So what do I do now? Call the garage with this info(that I've deleted )

I've noticed if I hold the revs at 2k rpm at standstill it starts running pretty rough.

Well something is definitely on the wonky. Gonna call them tomorrow and now its showing signs of poor running at 2k rpm they'll see something is up

It's always good to clear all codes as some are historic and the problem has been solved and the stored codes can be misleading in future diagnostics.

Very much why I suggested cleaning it!

Will it be obvious where the sensor is? So remove it and spray it/clean it with brake cleaner?

I did google Hyundai i10 Maf sensor location and for a million engine bay/MAF pics with none of an i10. This is one of the reasons I haven't unplugged it. Plus would I risk damaging it cleaning it if it was fine?

Left the reader plugged in on the way to work and didn't pick anything up, but the car really doesn't feel normal esp in the mid-range.

The MAF measures air flow, it's usually in it's own duct located just down stream from the airbox.

See that bit that's sticking out almost touching the battery... I'd guess that's the MAF....

Drove home all good. Picked my son up to go to Beavers and it cut out/ran rough. Same code has now come up on the reader as before. Not been able to do anything with the MAF yet.

I was going passed garage and popped in. They said bring it back now its showing a code and they run some more live testing of it.
