I have sympathy for their message. IE we need to stop f*cking the planet up.

I diverge hugely from their message in thinking dancing in Trafalgar square and causing agro makes much odds. We need solutions not multicolored trousers, dreads and didgeridoo's.

I don't know what their message is. Causing disruption? Being aggressive vandals?

Thing is nothing will change unless the entire world changes, so IMO the people they need to be protesting against are the governments.

Stopping Jimmy, Bob and John from driving into work isn't really going to do much except rile them up.

Also they never do it in their own city/village of residence, most of the protesters here in Bristol are normally from Devon/Dorset and Brum!

I think bikes and dodgy hairdos are the limits of my rebellion.

From memory istr the poll tax riots had a decent stoodent representation. I know at least two peers who were involved, one of those was arrested (now a professor, maybe not the best example as they are still on the radical side ) but the other is now as mainstream as they come.

I think what I'm trying to say is that youngsters are motivated by odd things and are more prepared to take part, these may not be sensible decisions but I'm glad they do it.

The bloke who delivered my logs last week was at ER in London, semi-retired in his late 60s.

Great wood BTW, very low moisture content from a sustainable source he assured me.

Obviously majority of people support saving the planet. XR are just buch of misguided people using wrong way to spread their message. The right aim doesn't justify the wrong means. To save the planet we need more laws and science not more people wearing red robes with drums breaking the law. That is just chaos.

    About the
"Commuters drag Extinction Rebellion activist off train"
    news.

That was bound to happen. I wish transport police have done their job not leaving the public in charge of enforcing the law.

You can't use illegal tactic to force your political views on the public - XR protest is NOT peaceful, it's against democracy and how the whole society works.

Have we all grown up, or was the poll tax riot ok because it was Thatcher?
    I nearly was.

Was despatching at the time, a group of us were in the office getting ready to go down when I got offered a pile of dockets earning me a good few quid, so off I went. The others had a great time in Trafalgar Square.

My inner capitalist was greater than my dislike for Thatch, I sold out
