    Anyone here a CISSP?

    How hard is it?
    Was it worth it?
    Classroom or self study?
How easy is it to blag the 5 year experience thing, or does just working in any IT role rather than specifically security count?

If it's like any other IT qualification it'll only prove your ability to pass an exam, any company that employs you based purely on your qualifications isn't worth working for and I wouldn't employ anyone who's qualifications hasn't held the qualifications for 3 years unless it was as a trainee.

    It's not like that.

It's not just classroom or self study either, it's both, the full course is on linkedin learning if you have access to it. I'm personally self studying the CISSP book and watching the video course, then will book onto the classroom training early next year then do the exam. You need to be working in the domains however, for 5 years. I was doing project delivery of security projects before going all in and that counts. An existing CISSP needs to write you a reference and attest to your work experience, so even if you pass the exam, you aren't qualified until that aspect is complete. Hope that helps!
