How many Japanese versus European bikes have you owned? And any that are neither? I wonder if we can map character traits against the propensity to own Japanese or European bikes?

Me - well these are what I could remember on a quick count. I have not included the boy's race bikes here.

    Japanese 6

    European 15

So my Euro Jap ratio is 2.5:1

    1 UK, CCM
    1 German, BMW
    1 Italian, MotoGuzzi

    Japanese

    Numerous Hondas
    Several Yamahas
    A few Kawasakis
    No Suzukis

Guesstimate at 1 Euro to 4 or 5 Japanese

    Lessee now....

    Puch Magnum X
    Suzuki GP100
    Yamaha YB100
    Moto Guzzi V50
    Ducati TL600
    Kawasaki ZXR400
    Kawasaki ZR550 x2
    BMW R1150R x4
    BMW K1200R

    5 Oriental
    8 European

Interesting as well that I seem to lean towards the somewhat more "industrial" brands.

Excluding track bikes, unfinished rebuild projects and pure offroad bikes, I reckon 8 non-Jap and 12 Jap. Considering that covers the space of 46 years when I've always had at least one bike, I think I keep mine longer than some

The sum total of my 17 years of riding.
I hate buying and selling vehicles with a passion, I'd sooner ride it into the ground than have to deal with asshats selling it.
