Just changed phone, from Huawei to Samsung.

Both have USB connectors, both type 'C'. But the Samsung will only charge using the new (supplied) cable, not one we already had.

    Any idea why?

I charge my Samsung phone with a USB-C supplied with an older OnePlus phone.

The pin outs should both be the same, what are you using as a power source?

I had a laptop with the wrong charger but fitted. It was to low an amperage so could only run the laptop but not charge it unless switched off. Used a Samsung phone as a sat nav one year. Plugged into a 1.5ah USB socket it would run out of battery as a sat nav after 5 hours so aye, make sure you are using the right charger.

    One of these:

Which would happily charge two phones together.

    Repeat after me:

"Horse, it appears that you are a techno humpty fuckwit who is incapable of ensuring that *both* ends of the cable are connected to something ... "

I've got a 'Dash' compatible charger from the old OnePlus, it won't charge my Samsung, yet if I plug the USB-C cable that came with the Dash charger into the phone and pretty much any other charger, including Apple ones, it works.
