That's exactly what I've said when talking to people about it. The Brits are so focussed on a 'free at point of use' service from the NHS that they will hold out for a worse service than would be possible with the a new system

We pay a lot of tax I guess. But damn our services are a shit ton better than in the UK!!

Friends in France are really impressed with the system there.

    Heavy going if you're not a biologist...which I ain't.

However this "cleave" does appear to be important. Both those links however seem to say this cleaving thing is totally natural. One even says the critical change could have happened 10,000 years ago or could have happened last week.

How does that suggest manipulation. Or perhaps a better Q is how does someone who's not a biologist unpack all that and conclude human intervention? Particularly when all the people who are bilogists appear to be saying the opposite?
Should one believe to the consensus of scientists and their published work or laymen with who have absorbed a limited, piecemeal range of information then posted their opinions on social media?

Nearly unanimous is always correct is it?

At one point, Copernicus was laughed at by his peers, what about Alfred Wegener, Charles Darwin... etc etc

Just because the main thrust is one way, and a small set or even single scientists think something different... doesn’t mean the main thrust is always correct. You’d know this if your ‘degree’ wasn’t just a correspondence course...

This is where the credibility of the journal is important, peer review is the gold standard but it depends on the rigour of the process. As for Copernicus, he was not laughed at by his peers who indeed validated his heliocentric paper that the Church tried to stifle, however he did need to travel to the Netherlands to submit it
