You could just ignore him/her, as I have since his first tantrum. After all It'll only be anecdotal and possibly utter nonsense any way

Claiming to have knowledge of what's going on in China because his wife is in touch with her Chinese relatives? Unless they're senior party officials they'll only know what the government tells them, which is probably less than it tells the outside world.

Is it that they're beginning to go back to work (almost) as per normal?

I'm in the WFH office and overheard a broadcast by an Indian presenter claiming that they're getting back to BAU and that manufacturing is going berserk as they supply the ROTW with equipment. It was quite a dark piece as she also alluded to the book written by two Chinese generals sometime in the last 10 years about how they might set this situation up in the future. The claim seemed a little unfair/bitter IMHO but the positive take-away for me was that their situation was improving which gives us all hope.

Is the news that China are now back at it, strongest economy on the planet currently and selling PPE to the rest of the world?

Or is it the anti 5G panic and associated conspiracy theories?

Most of us are off work, we've seen (read) it all!

They'll also know what people are saying in their circle of acquaintances and local area

Even the CCP can't stop people having a chat and it's not Stasi-era DDR in terms of numbers of informers

We have 2 sets of close friends whose parents went home to China (2 separate cities) about 3 weeks ago. Been tested 5 or 6 times each, they've done a 2 week quarantine and then gone back to work. Most things moving around normally, people still being careful and wearing masks etc

OK China's a big place but their cities at least are not on lockdown

You just need workers. They don't have to be migrants.

someone said similar to me this week. I suggested that the trade unions and work shy trade unionists are why manufacturing fucked off in the first place.
