Any dramas using them with a modern smartphone?

I suspect the days of not putting batteries next to electronics are long gone, but if anyone is likely to know it's you lot.

Some have magnetic sensors to detect when a case is closed, you may find your screen shutting off. My case has magnets and causes no problem so it may be try and see.

I have one in my car, with a sticky metal plate on the back of the phone. Works very well, just throw the phone at it and it sticks.

Both daughters have used them for last 5 years or so in their cars, neither has complained about ill effects from the holder (just everything else...).

Awesome, well sounds like it should be a go'er then. This was prompted by finding a magnetic phone holder kit in the door pocket of the new to me car. Unfortunately I had a look last night, and there's no where to put it where I will be able to see it, its out of the way and not over by the passenger seat, so I may not bother. I guess I've discovered why it had been left in the car

Good to know they're a viable option in future though.
